1000 was created in 1972 after 10 years of careful blending and perfecting by the great Jean Patou perfumer, Jean Kerleo. Introduced as a true haute couture fragrance, it was made to order upon request. The name 1000 honors the thousand different submissions made and rejected before selecting the perfect scent.
